Amidst the talks of buying Rohit Sharma for Rs 50 crore, Lucknow Supergiants owner Sanjiv Goenka said in an interview with Sports Tak that, “You tell me one thing, do you or anybody else know whether Rohit Sharma is coming to the auction or not? All these speculations are baseless. Whether Mumbai Indians will release Rohit Sharma or not, whether he is coming to the auction or not, even if he comes, you are going to use 50 per cent of your salary cap on one player, then how will you manage the remaining 22 players?”
