India Vs Ireland: India’s women’s cricket team created history today in the one-day match against Ireland in Rajkot. The women of India have achieved something which even the Indian men’s cricket team has not been able to do till date. Team India made a big score of 435 runs at the loss of five wickets in the stipulated 50 overs against Ireland in Rajkot. Indian women’s team has crossed the barrier of 400 for the first time.

Women left the men’s team behind

The Indian men’s cricket team has also lagged behind the great record made by Indian women against Ireland. If we look at the records of both men’s and women’s cricket teams, till now India’s highest score was recorded in the name of men’s team, which was made against West Indies in Indore in 2011.

At that time the Indian men’s team had scored 418 runs at the loss of five wickets, but today the Indian women scored even more runs than that. However, New Zealand holds the record for scoring the most runs in ODI women’s cricket and this record was made against Ireland in 2018. New Zealand team had scored 491 runs against Ireland.

Mandhana did not score the fastest century

Indian women’s team won the toss and decided to bat first against Ireland in Rajkot today. Smriti Mandhana, who is captaining the Indian team in the series against Ireland, today made the record of scoring the fastest century in her name. He broke the record of Harmanpreet Kaur. In the last ODI match against Ireland, he scored a century in just 70 balls whereas earlier this record was in the name of Harmanpreet.

Harmanpreet had made a record last year against South Africa by scoring a century in 87 balls in Bengaluru. Mandhana played an inning of 135 runs in 80 balls. During this, he hit seven sixes and 12 fours. With this, Mandhana has become the fourth female cricketer to score ten or more centuries in ODI matches.

Raval scored his first century in ODI matches

Apart from Smriti Mandhana, India’s second opening batsman Pratika Rawal also batted brilliantly. He provided strength to Team India by playing an inning of 154 runs in 129 balls. During his innings, he also hit one six along with 20 fours.

This was Raval’s first century in ODI matches. Raval has so far scored 444 runs in 6 one-day matches at an average of 74. Both the opening batsmen of India made a partnership of 233 runs for the first wicket. These two batsmen together scored 289 runs for India.

Crossed the barrier of 400 after just three days

Earlier, in the second ODI match played against Ireland on January 12, Indian women had scored 370 runs. This was the highest score of the women’s team in ODI but today Indian women also crossed the barrier of 400. Team India broke its own record by scoring 435 runs in just 3 days.

This is the fourth highest score made by the women’s team in ODIs. New Zealand holds the record for scoring the most runs. New Zealand team had scored 491 runs against Ireland. Apart from this, New Zealand team has also scored 455 runs against Pakistan and 440 runs against Ireland. India has now secured the fourth position in terms of scoring the most runs by scoring 435 runs.
