Syed Modi Badminton Championship 2024 : Top seeded star Indian shuttler PV Sindhu stormed into the semi-finals of the Sahila singles with a stellar performance at the Syed Modi India International HSBC World Tour Super 300 Badminton Championship 2024.

In men’s singles, top seed Indian shuttler Lakshya Sen and second seed Priyanshu Rajawat also reached the last four with the win. In women’s doubles, second seeds Trisha Jolly and Gayatri Gopichand P. also reached the semi-finals. Fifth seeds Dhruv Kapila and Tanisha Crasto of India reached the last four of mixed doubles and previous runners-up India’s top seeds Ashwini Ponnappa and Tanisha Crasto of women’s doubles.

Commonwealth Games gold and World Championship bronze winner Lakshya Sen had an easy 21-8, 21-19 win against India’s Maisan Luang Merba in the USD 2,10,000 championship held at the Yonex Sunrise Babu Banarasi Das Badminton Academy. Recorded victory. Lakshya Sen faced some trouble in the second game. The opponent made a comeback against them after 15 points and at one time it seemed that Lakshya would lose the game but Lakshya won easily by playing excellent shots in the last moments. Expressing happiness after the victory, Lakshya said that there was some difficulty in the second game but winning is a good thing.

Lakshya will now face Japan’s Shogo Ogawa in the next round, who defeated eighth seed Ayush Shetty of India 21-7, 21-14. In men’s singles, second seed Priyanshu Rajawat of India defeated Nguyen He Dang of Vietnam 21-13, 21-8. Priyanshu will now face fourth seed Jia Heng Jason Teh of Singapore in the semi-finals, who defeated R. Sanjeevi Satish Kumar of India.

In women’s singles, top seed PV Sindhu of India defeated Dai Wang of China 21-15, 21-17. Played well compared to other days: PV Sindhu, ranked 18th in the world, played well against her 118th world ranked rival from China. Sindhu showed some haste in the middle but then played with restraint and won with the help of excellent smash shots.

After the victory, Sindhu said that she played attacking game from the very beginning and started the game with a strategy, learning from past mistakes. My focus now is on tomorrow’s semi-final match. PV Sindhu will next face India’s Unnati Hooda (Odisha Open 2022 winner), who defeated America’s Ishika Jaiswal 21-16, 21-9 in another match.

In the mixed doubles quarter-finals, fifth seeds Dhruv Kapila and Tanisha Crasto of India defeated Lu Bing Kuo and Ho Lo Yi of Malaysia 21-16, 21-13. Then in the women’s doubles, Tanisha Crasto, partnering with Olympian Ashwini Ponnappa, defeated fifth seeded compatriots Shruti Mishra and Priya Konjengbam 21-12, 17-21, 21-16.
