On the third day of the Manchester Test match, England took a big lead over India. In response to 358 runs in India’s first innings, England have scored 544 runs for 7 wickets, leading to a lead of 186 runs. Indian bowling failed completely in this Test match. The England batsmen beat the Indian bowlers a lot and scored fast. Out of the 7 wickets of England, 4 wickets have been taken by Indian spinners. After this, the question arose that why Kuldeep Yadav was not given a chance in this Test? The bowling coach of the team has made a big disclosure on this.
Broken silence on Kuldeep Yadav
Team India’s star spinner Kuldeep Yadav has gone to England, but he has not got a chance to play a single Test match yet. The fourth Test match being played in Manchester is getting help to spinners, as seen in the third day game, when Ravindra Jadeja and Washington Sundar dismissed four England batsmen. Still Kuldeep Yadav was not included in the playing XI. After the third day’s play ended, the team’s bowling coach Morne Morkel broke his silence about Kuldeep Yadav and spoke openly about it.
Bowling coach Morne Morkel said about Kuldeep Yadav that whenever he was included in the playing XI, we have to keep our batting in mind. He said, “Kuldeep is a good bowler and he bowls out well, but we are trying to find a way to play him. At the moment, it is becoming a bit difficult to balance between batting and bowling.”
Batsmen will have to raise runs
Morkel also said that there is a need to score more runs against a team like England. Because of this, it becomes a compulsion to include additional all -rounder in the team. He said, “Kuldeep Yadav can get a chance only when our top six batsmen start scoring continuously. Otherwise, it will be difficult for him to make it to the playing XI.”
Morkel’s statement
The bowling coach also said that there is not much help on this wicket yet, although a little is rotating. Because of this, Ravindra Jadeja and Washington Sundar got wickets. Morkel also said that if Kuldeep Yadav had played, the team may have taken more wickets. Kuldeep played his last Test match in England in 2018.
