WTC Final Race: The first match of the three-match Test series between India and New Zealand has been played at the Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. India’s performance in this match has not been anything special. Team India suffered a crushing defeat in the first test against New Zealand. After which now the equation of reaching the final of the World Test Championship has changed.
Team India’s problems increased due to defeat
Team India had to face defeat by 8 wickets in the first test match played against New Zealand. India had given a target of 107 runs to New Zealand to win this match, which the Kiwi team achieved. In the first innings, the Indian team was all out for just 46 runs. The performance of Team India’s batsmen was not good. Team India had to pay the price for this by losing the match. However, in the second innings the Indian batsmen performed better than the first innings and tried to make a comeback.
Now, after losing the match against New Zealand, Team India has suffered a huge loss in the PCT in the points table of the World Test Championship. India’s PCT before the match was 74.24, which has now fallen to 68.06. However, the Indian team still remains at the first position in the points table. In the current cycle of WTC, India has played a total of 12 Test matches so far, out of which India has won 8 and lost 3.
Currently, India still has two Test matches to play against New Zealand and five against Australia. India will have to win four out of 7 test matches at any cost.
