Khandwa News: Khandwa The district administration foiled the efforts of the Revenue Department to encroach on land worth more than 100 crores adjoining Nagchun pond on Surgaon Nipani road. People had occupied about 250 acres of land by encroaching upon them by making agriculture and houses. It has been liberated. In this 150 acres of land was being cultivated. At the same time, preparations were made to occupy 100 acres of land by building houses. People were living here by making about 14 houses and buffalo tables. Out of this, five houses were razed by JCB machine by SDM Arvind Chauhan and city superintendent of police Lalit Gathere. At the same time, four tablas of buffaloes were also removed and the land was made encroachment free. However, people living in 9 houses have been given eight days to remove the encroachment.
On Saturday, the revenue staff reached about 250 acres of revenue department’s land adjoining Nagchun pond on Surgaon Nipani Road to make it encroachment free. Here about 150 acres of land was being encroached and cultivated. People had planted wheat crop. Most of the farmers had taken the crop home before taking action. Wheat crop was found in two fields. For eviction from the government land, the field was marked with JCB machine. Along with this, the farmer was instructed to clear the land after harvesting the crop.
This government land is attached to the farmer’s field. For more than 10 years, farming was being done by the farmer by occupying the government land. The farmers had made bunds by occupying the land. The bund was leveled with JCB machine. The Revenue Department got this land vacated easily in the presence of the police. SDM Chauhan also instructed the villagers that if they encroach again, a case would be registered against them.
There were 14 pucca houses on government land at Surgaon Nipani Phante. These houses were filled with animal husks. During this, the women living in four houses opposed the action. He opposed the action in front of SDM Chauhan. The women say that they have been living here for 15 years. They have no other house. If they are removed from here they will be homeless. During this, a young man kept saying that if his house was broken, he would hang himself in front of everyone. In this way, people protested against the action for about half an hour. After this, SDM Chauhan assured him that he would be settled elsewhere. Only then will their houses be demolished. Similarly, people living in five houses were given eight days to remove the encroachments.
