– Every day 7 to 9 mcft water is supplied, 200 mcft water is wasted
Gwalior Tigra Dame News: Gwalior. New Zealand Representative. Due to leakages of Tighra Dam, the only means of drinking water supply in Gwalior, about one month of potable water is wasted in a year. About 7 to 9 mcft of water is supplied to Gwalior city every day. But due to leakages, this water flows and reaches the river through the bridge of Kaintha village. At present, a tender of Rs 17.42 crore has been prepared to rectify these leakages, within a week this tender will be issued. This time the company from outside the state will participate to repair the dam, because according to the work mentioned in the tender, the leakages of the dam will be pumped into the leaks this time by taking the divers out of the water in the Tigra. This chemical will convert into a solid form after coming in contact with water.
There have been many leakages in the Tigra Dam built in 1916. Due to these leakages, lakhs of liters of water per day flows out of the Tighra dam. In order to stop this water, the Water Resources Department has done maintenance work many times in the past. But even after this the leakages could not be stopped completely. Due to this, the Water Resources Department is going to issue a tender worth Rs 17.42 crore this time.
