Ban on smartphones: Smartphone used to stop using students in schools, but now the Delhi High Court has given a big verdict. The High Court has ordered to take smartphones in schools. On using the smartphone of students in schools, the court said that this device is useful to maintain coordination between students and family members. Children are safety by carrying the phone, India is one of the few countries which have ordered this. The decision came during the hearing of a student’s petition.
Phones will be used in school
The court said that students cannot be prevented from carrying smartphones in schools. But teachers can keep their full monitoring on its use. Students can keep their phones in a safe place in school and take the mobile phone at the time of going to their home. To maintain discipline in the classroom, there should be a ban on the use of phone in class. Along with this, the use of camera should be banned in common areas and school vehicles.
These rules have to be followed
The court has also included in its order that schools should make their students aware of responsible online behavior, digital manor and moral use of phones. Along with this, students should also give council to avoid more screen time, cyber bullying and restlessness etc.
India left behind other countries
Could not take a phone to school in many countries of the world including the US and France. In Sweden, a child under 2 years of age is not allowed to use the screen. Similarly, America is also considering making rules on the use of phones in schools. Right now India has implemented this rule. The court also warned that the use of smartphones should be limited to educational objectives only.
