Gorakhpur News: Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath laid the foundation stone of beautification work and museum of Gorkha War Memorial and museum with the aim of making the indomitable courage and bravery of the brave sons of the Gorkha Regiment for the coming generations. The project will be developed at a cost of Rs 45 crore, which will not only honor the sacrifice of Gorkha soldiers but will also give a new strength to India-Nepal’s cultural and historical relations. Chief of Defense Staff (CDS) General Anil Chauhan was also present in the program. During this, CM Yogi recalled the valor of Gorkha soldiers and said that the foundation of glorious heritage is an inspiration for the coming generation. The whole world has accepted the iron of the Indian Army today. The British also could not face the Gorkha soldiers and they were forced to treat.
Bhumi Pujan and Foundation of Museum with Vedic chanting
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath performed Bhoomipujan of the museum with Vedic chanting and offered prayers at the Maa Kali temple located in the premises. During this period, a short film based on the working style of the Gorkha Recruiting Depot (GRD) was performed, in which the stories of the brave soldiers of the Gorkha Regiment were presented alive. Also, in cultural programs, the soldiers performed dances and songs to suit their tradition and culture, which mesmerized the audience. The Chief Minister honored the brave women of the families of the martyrs of the Gorkha Regiment.
Addressing the program, CM Yogi quoted the famous lines of Ramdhari Singh Dinkar, “Burning bones in turn, which sparks, which died for the motherland without any cost … Kalam today, his Jai Bol.”
CM Yogi, referring to the end of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Panch Pran Slavery, the feeling of pride on his legacy, respect for the brave soldiers, social unity and discharge of duties said that Gorkha soldiers have worked on different fronts, it is our duty to honor all brave soldiers.
The name of Gorkha soldiers comes at the top in the discussion of army bravery- Chief Minister
CM Yogi said that when we discuss the bravery of India’s army, the name of Gorkha soldiers comes at the top. With the announcement of ‘Jai Mahakali, Jai Gorakhhali’, when they fall on the enemy, the enemy is forced to retreat. The British Army was forced to treat the treaty in the British-Gorakha war of 1816. After that Gorkha soldiers also showed their bravery in the British Army.
Even in independent India, he forced the enemies to kneel on various fronts. Referring to the tradition of Mahayogi Guru Gorakhnath, CM Yogi said that where there is Gorakhnath temple, worship of Maa Kali is mandatory, which is a symbol of the coordination of Shiva and Shakti. This coordination is a source of power to fight fearlessly from the death of Gorkha soldiers.

Describing this monument as inspiration for the coming generations, CM Yogi said that this 100 -year -old monument will now take a grand appearance. The museum will showcase the old uniforms, weapons, weapons and changes of war art in the museum here. This will give the younger generation an opportunity to learn from history.
He thanked CDS General Anil Chauhan and said that despite his busyness, joining the event reflects his dedication to the Gorkha Regiment. The Chief Minister mentioned the initiative of the Uttar Pradesh government, such as construction of monuments in the police force, assistance of Rs 50 lakh to the families of the martyrs, naming jobs and monuments. He also reiterated the announcement of 20 percent reservation in the police for the soldiers returning under the Agniveer scheme.

The Chief Minister paid homage to the war memorial and saluted the brave soldiers. He said that this project will not only make the families of thousands of former Gorkha soldiers living in Koonraghat area of Gorakhpur a feeling of pride, but will also increase the attraction towards the army among the youth. CM Yogi said that a new Sainik School has been established in Gorakhpur, which will help in realizing the resolution of developed India. Emphasizing the price of ‘Nation First’, he said that the targets will be achieved only by discharging the duty of every citizen.

In the program, CDS General Anil Chauhan saluted the valor of Gorkha soldiers. He said that today is historic. In 1886, the Gorkha Recruiting Depot was established in Kunraghat. In the First World War, Gorkha soldiers showed indomitable courage and were martyred at least 20 thousand. This war monument was established in 1925.
Today its renewal is a proof of our foresight. CDS Chauhan thanked the Yogi government and said that this monument will become a symbol of civil-militant fusion. He described it as important for three reasons, first, identifying the Gorkha soldiers and close relationships between the Indian Army, second, their centuries-old selfless service and bravery and third, commitment to strengthening India-Nepal relations. CDS said that today is the time of change. We imagine developed India, but should not forget the past. The sacrifice of Gorkha soldiers is an inspiration for us, which will inspire the coming generations.
What will be special in the museum
This museum will digitally present the Gauravagatha of the Gorkha Regiment. In this, stories of brave soldiers will be alive through digital and sound and light shows. The 7D theater, mural painting on the walls and video documentaries will be the center of attraction.
The program was also addressed by CDS Anil Chauhan, Union Minister of State for Rural Development Kamlesh Paswan, MP Ravikishan Shukla and Chief Lieutenant General Sanjeev Singh Chauhan, Head of Gorkha Brigade. On this occasion, Mayor Dr. Manglesh Srivastava, MLC Dr. Dharmendra Singh, MLA Vipin Singh, Mahendrapal Singh, Rajesh Tripathi, Dr. Vimlesh Paswan, Pradeep Shukla, Saravan Nishad, former chief of Gorkha Brigade, Lieutenant General AK Singh, Gorkha Regiment, GRD and several army officers were present.
