Jaupur news: A workshop on the subject of “Digital Addiction” was organized on Wednesday under the joint aegis of Wellness Center and Practical Psychology Department at the Conference Hall at Faculty Building of Veer Bahadur Singh Purvanchal University. The purpose of the workshop was to make the youth aware of the rapidly growing mobile and internet addiction.
In the workshop, the keynote speaker Wellness Center Coordinator Prof. Ajay Pratap Singh said that today’s younger generation is losing the priceless time of his life in mobile addiction. The addiction of anything becomes dangerous when it gets out of control of the person. Digital addiction is a threat to the future of youth.
He said that while watching reels or games on mobile, dopamine hormone is secreted from the brain, which gives momentary happiness but the same process gradually turns into addiction. He called upon the youth that the true happiness of life should be discovered in good works and creative activities.
Prof. President of Applied Social Science and Humanities Faculty. Manoj Mishra said that the youth is wandering in the virtual world of mobile today, due to which his connection with real life is decreasing. He also expressed concern over the increasing cyber crimes due to excessive mobile’s over-neutrality.
Nodal Officer of Wellness Center, Dr. Annu Tyagi said that the energy and time of the youth is the axis of development of the country. If this energy is destroyed in digital addiction, nation building will be interrupted. He appealed to the students to put it in creative works instead of losing unnecessary time on mobile.
Dr. Janhvi Srivastava, Assistant Professor of the Department of Practical Psychology, suggested to the students that if they have symptoms of digital addiction, take counseling (counseling) instead of panic and use time. He said that do not keep the mobile close all the time and stop unnecessary notifications.
During the program, students were also shown a documentary based on digital addiction, giving them an opportunity to understand the problem deeply. The program was conducted by Dr. Digvijay Singh Rathore. A large number of students including Dr. Chandan Singh, Dr. Amit Mishra, Arpit Yadav, Anand Singh were present on the occasion.
