Popular PC maker company Asus is focusing a lot on laptops with OLED screens these days. Recently, the company has brought Asus VivoBook 13 Slate OLED. It is a 2-in-1 notebook, which also acts like a tablet and becomes a laptop with keyboard. Its price starts from Rs 45,990, which goes up to Rs 57,990 for accessories like keyboard and pen. We have used this VivoBook for a few days and have brought you the review. Let us know if you are also looking for a 2-in-1 notebook, then how will the Asus VivoBook 13 Slate OLED be for you?
display and design
Its design itself makes it unique. Asus Vivobook 13 Slate has a 13.3-inch Full HD display. The display comes with 1920×1080 pixel resolution and has Corning Gorilla Glass for protection. The left side is home to a 3.5-mm combo audio jack, two USB-C ports, a microSD card reader and speaker mesh. On the right side are the speaker mesh, Dolby Atmos logo and volume rocker. There is a power button in the top corner and a magnetic port at the bottom through which you can connect the keyboard.
Although it is an OLED display, but it supports Dolby Vision, which makes you viewing experience even better. In OLED display, you see better colors than the rest of the display. Overall this screen does not disappoint you. However, when you close the laptop with the keyboard and stand attached, it becomes difficult to know where it is upright and upside down without opening it. One complaint will also be that USB Type A and MicroSD card ports are not available in it. The special thing is that there is also support for fingerprint scanner in its power button itself.
how is the performance
Users can choose between 128 GB storage with 4 GB RAM or 256 GB storage with 8 GB RAM. This tablet comes with Windows 11 support, which enhances your desktop experience. In which you can enjoy many social media and free apps including Facebook, Instagram through Microsoft Store. Running Instagram on the big screen is a different fun. In this, tasks like web browsing and watching online content are done well.
The keyboard that comes with the tablet is quite compact and does its job well. However, you cannot adjust the angle of the keyboard. Also, there is no backlit support in it, which can cause problems for you while typing at night. The special thing is that you can also control the display through touch. You also get the facility of in-screen keyboard. However, if your main job involves typing, then you might not feel very comfortable with this device.
It is powered by Intel Pentium Silver N6000 processor, which is a quad core CPU. It has a 5 megapixel front camera and 13 megapixel rear camera. Front camera is given for video calling and rear camera for clicking pictures. Its camera is better than the webcam found in laptops, although it would be wrong to compare it with the phone’s camera in quality. Its audio is quite loud and clear.
how is the battery
It has a 50Whr lithium-ion battery, which comes with a 65W charger for charging. Talking about the battery life, it easily lasts for 8-9 hours on a single charge. At the same time, it takes about 2 hours for it to be fully charged. The special thing about this tablet is that you can improve its experience through accessories. The specialty of the back cover that attaches to the tablet is that it can be used in both landscape and portrait conditions. It also supports Bluetooth 5.0 and WiFi 6.
what is our decision
The special thing is that this tablet fulfills both your entertainment and work purposes. You should not consider it as powerful and fast as any 50-60 thousand laptop. In this, there will be trouble in doing regular work like heavy gaming, video editing or content writing. However, it can easily complete your basic computing tasks. It will be better if you use it for basic web browsing, viewing content, online meetings and document editing.
It also has the feature of Link to MyASUS, which connects it to your smartphone. Through this feature, you do not need to use your phone and you can do all the necessary work through Asus tablet itself. It offers features ranging from screen mirroring, file transfer, making or receiving phone calls, and remote file access.
