Today is a very important day in the direction of 5G internet service. Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched the 5G Test Bed in the country on the occasion of the completion of Silver Jubilee of Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI). The 5G test bed project has been jointly prepared by 8 institutes led by IIT Madras.
Modi was present as the chief guest in this function through video conferencing. Describing India as the world’s largest mobile manufacturing hub, PM Modi also said that the number of mobile manufacturing units in the country has increased from 2 to more than 200.
Telecom industry and startups will get help
The 5G test bed will greatly help the telecom industry and startups of Tesh. Through this, industry and startups will be able to validate 5th and next generation products, prototypes and solutions. The cost of this project is Rs 220 crore.

IIT Delhi, IIT Hyderabad, IIT Bombay, IIT Kanpur, IISc Bangalore, Society of Applied Microwave Electronics Engineering & Research (SAMEER) and Center of Excellence in Wireless Tecnology (CEWit) have worked together to develop the 5G test bed. IIT Madras was leading.
India has shown potential in mobile manufacturing
In this program organized on the occasion of completion of 25 years of TRAI, PM also mentioned about the dominance of India’s mobile manufacturing in the world. PM Modi said that India is currently the world’s largest mobile manufacturing hub. Along with this, the Prime Minister said that now the number of mobile manufacturing units in the country has increased from 2 to more than 200.
