Google has started rolling out a new feature in its Android app that will allow users to quickly delete the last 15 minutes of search history. Google confirmed in a statement to The Verge that the company is rolling out its ‘quick delete’ option on the Google app for Android and is expected to roll out the feature to all users using the app over the next few weeks. This feature was first spotted by Mishaal Rahman, former editor-in-chief of XDA Developers.
To check if you’ve received the update, all you have to do is open Google’s Android app, tap your profile photo, and look for the “Delete last 15 minutes” option. With this functionality, you’ll be able to easily delete your most recent search history with just a few taps.
Was announced in 2021 but missed the deadline
Notably, Google had already announced at its Annual Developers Conference I/O 2021 that they would introduce a feature that would allow users to quickly access their last 15 minutes of search history with a single tap from the Google Account menu. will enable removal. This feature came to Google’s iOS app in July. At the time, the company had said that it would roll it out on its Android app and on the web later this year (2021).
However, the company apparently missed its 2021 deadline and after a long wait, the company is now rolling out the feature to its Android app users.
