Xiaomi India recently launched the Redmi Note 11 and Note 11 Pro series in India and expanded its wearables market with the announcement of the Redmi Watch 2 Lite. Apart from phones, the company also has smart TVs, accessories, lifestyle products and more. Now there is news that Xiaomi is about to launch a new tablet in India, which the company has announced via Twitter. Xiaomi India chief Manu Kumar Jain announced this on Twitter.
Though it tested its luck in tablets with the Mi Pad several years back, the brand hasn’t brought a successor or follow-up model to the country as the reception was not that great. The tablet device could be a new model, there is a possibility that it could be the recently launched Mi Pad 5. It should be interesting to see that Xiaomi is taking on Realme, which already has the Realme Pad in India and is gearing up for the launch of the Realme Pad Mini in the Philippines. The company has made a “Notify Me” button for the upcoming Xiaomi tablet.
Features of Mi Pad 5
The Mi Pad 5 comes with 120Hz refresh rate, 240Hz sampling rate, Dolby Vision, HDR10, True Tone True Color display, TUV Rheinland low blue light hardware, and an 11-inch WQXGA display. It is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 860 processor with Adreno 640 GPU. The Mi Pad 5 will come with 6GB of RAM and 128GB or 256GB of storage. It runs on Android 11 with MIUI 12.5 custom skin and packs an 8720mAh battery with 33W fast-charging support.
In terms of optics, the Mi Pad 5 sports a single 13MP snapper at the back that can record 4K videos. There is an 8MP snapper on the front for selfies and video chats. The tablet is equipped with Dolby Atmos, USB Type-C audio and quad speakers. Connectivity features include 5G, 4G LTE (optional) dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS and USB Type-C.
