Indian Railway Tatkal Ticket: Indian Railways has made some major changes in Tatkal ticket booking systems, the purpose of these changes is to increase transparency, prevent fraud and give priority to common passengers. It includes many things such as Aadhaar Verification, OTP Verification, as well as the time-limit on agents. Under this new rules, first you will have to get Aadhaar link and authentication necessary to book Tatkal tickets through the IRCTC website and mobile app from 1 July 2025.
Verification will work
During this time, the Railways has also implemented Aadhaar based OTP verification for all online Tatkal ticket booking from 15 July 2025. For this, you will be sent an OTP on mobile, which will not be completed without entering the ticket booking process. The ticket will be booked after OTP arrives on the mobile number given during booking.
How to book Tatkal Tickets
1: For this, first you have to go to the IRCTC website.
2: Then complete the login process by entering your username and password here.
3: Now feel station, travel date and other details.
4: You have to select the immediate option in quota dropdown.
5: Then you will see the list of available trains.
6: After this, click on the available category type.
7: Then you have to click on the ‘Book Now’ button.
8: Then you have to feel the complete details of your journey.
9: After doing everything, enter the verification code.
10: Enter mobile number for booking and cancellation.
11: Then click on Continue Button.
12: Then you have to complete the payment process and click on the ‘Continue’ button.
13: Now go to the ‘Pay and Book’ button.
Time given to agent
In order to give priority to common passengers in the new rule, the Railways has banned authorized railway agents in the initial time of ticket booking. Now agents will not be able to take any booking from 10:00 am to 10:30 am. While this ban has been imposed for non-AC from 11:00 am to 11:30 am.
