PAN 2.0 aims to bring technology based changes in the taxpayer registration service. PAN Card 2.0 will have QR Code and taxpayers will not have to pay anything separately to get it made. For this, citizens do not even need to go anywhere. A new PAN can be created for free through the online process. After the implementation of PAN 2.0, PAN data vault system is also going to be mandatory.
There is no need to change the PAN number to make PAN 2.0. Even in PAN 2.0, the old PAN number will be valid. Under PAN 2.0, people will now get a new PAN card, which will have digital facilities like QR code. You will not have to spend money to get a new PAN card. Upgradation of PAN is completely free and will be delivered to people’s addresses.
PAN card will not have to be changed unless the PAN holder wants any updation or correction. Actually PAN 2.0 will come to upgrade the PAN system. PAN 2.0 will come with QR codes for quick scans and is going to be ‘completely online’. With this new PAN Card, services will be available more easily and more effectively.
