Lucknow News: Lucknow, 19 August. In the presence of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, a historic agreement was signed between the Uttar Pradesh government and The Foreign Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) UK on Tuesday. Under this, “Chivaning-India Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Bajpai Uttar Pradesh State Government Scholarship Scheme” has been launched, under which five talented students of the state will be given scholarship for master’s degree in prestigious universities of the United Kingdom every year.
It is noteworthy that under the leadership of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, the UP government is working not only to give talented students to the national, but also internationally. On this occasion, the Chief Minister said that this scholarship scheme will become a strong medium to give new direction to the education system of the state and prepare the youth for “Global Leadership Roll”.
Students will get global exposure
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that the objective of this scheme is to give meritorious students an opportunity to excel in education, research and leadership. The scheme will operate from academic session 2025-26 to three years (2025-26, 2026-27 and 2027-28). After this the scheme will be renewed from 2028-29. This scheme, which was started with the inspiration of Bharat Ratna Atal Bihari Bajpai ji, will give the youth of the state an opportunity to achieve new heights in global education and leadership. He called upon the students to increase the pride of Uttar Pradesh and the country by taking advantage of this opportunity.
Provision for complete studies and expenses
This scholarship will include full teaching fee, examination and research fee, living allowance and air fare for UK. About £ 38,048 per student will cost £ 42,076 (about ₹ 45 to ₹ 48 lakh). Out of this, the Uttar Pradesh government will bear about £ 19,800 (₹ 23 lakh), FCDO UK will bear the remaining amount.
British High Commissioner also appreciated the initiative
British High Commissioner to India, Lindi Cameron, while signing an MoU before Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath in Lucknow, said that it is a great pleasure to come to Lucknow and sign the agreement. Under this new chivaning scholarship, five students will get an opportunity to study in full scholarship in UK every year for the next three years. It is a symbol of growing relations between the United Kingdom and India. Recently, during the UK visit of Prime Minister Narendra Modi ji, the trade agreement and vision 35 have been signed by the Prime Ministers of the two countries, which will open great business opportunities along with education. This partnership will benefit the students of India and especially Uttar Pradesh on the global platform.
