Uber for teens: Uber, who was launched as a pilot project in select cities last month, has officially started his ‘Uber for Teens’ service in India. This newly launched service has been launched keeping in mind the teen of 13 to 17 years and its purpose is to provide a safe young adult travel option under the supervision of parents. Uber launched the service in the US in 2023 and gradually expanded it to 50 countries around the world. Now, nearly two years after its early launch, Uber is bringing Uber for Teens to India.

Uber for teens comes with a live trip tracking feature that parents or other family members can use their teens ride. In addition, the live trip tracking facility informs the guardian that their child requests the ride, when they arrive and when they are on travel. This service also comes with an unexpected event alert feature that using data from sensors and GPS find out if the ride stops unexpectedly, finishs prematurely or wanders from the path. If it finds out something, the company will send a message to the rider to ensure that everything is fine.

Another safety facility available as a part of Uber for Teen’s service is audio recording. This opt-in feature automatically records the entire journey. This service also allows teenas booking rides to bring a guest rider along. The age of the rider should be between 13 and 17 years of age and should have permission to travel from parents or legal guardians. It remains to be seen how the company will ensure additional parental consent. In addition, this service enables parents or gargen to talk directly to the driver of the teens by going to the activity section of the Uber app. When a teenth turns 18, his Uber for Teen’s account will automatically convert to a standard account and connect to the family account of his parents.
