New rule 1 August: From 1 August 2025, there is going to be a big change for UPI users. If you pay daily through UPI apps like Phonpe, Google Pay or Paytm, then this news is very important for you.
The National Payments Corporation of India i.e. NPCI has implemented some important new rules to make UPI more speed, safe and reliable. These rules may seem technical to you, but they will have an impact on your daily digital payments.
According to the information, more than 16 billion transactions are done in India every month from UPI. But many times there are complaints of server obstruction or delay. To solve these problems, NPCI has made 7 significant changes.
Now there will be a limit to check the balance …
The first change is the leam to check daily balance. Now you will get a balance check only 50 times from your UPI app in a day. Repeatedly checking the balance puts heavy pressure on the server, causing the transaction to slow down.
Limit often on checking link bank accounts
You will be able to check the link bank accounts linked to your mobile number only 25 times a day. This will unnecessarily reduce the pressure on the server in the system and will also reduce the chances of fraud.
Changes related to autope transaction
Installments of autope transactions such as Netflix or mutual funds will now be processed in only three times slots. This is the time before 10 am, 1 to 5 pm and 9:30 pm. This will reduce the pressure on the server in the peak hours.
Limit to check repeated transaction states
The fourth change is the limit to check transaction status. Now you will be able to see the status of a failed transaction only three times a day, and it is necessary to have a gap of about 90 seconds between each check. Repeated checking the status puts pressure on the system, which slows the server.
Will be able to see the name of the bank before making payment
Let me tell you, the rule that has been implemented before 1 August before June 30 is that before making payment, the receiver’s registered bank name. This has reduced the chances of going to the wrong account or the risk of fraud.
Payment Reversal Limit
The limit of chargeback i.e. payment reversal has been set. You can ask for chargeback only 10 times in 30 days and 5 times from any one person or institution.
Order for banks and apps
Apart from this, NPCI has ordered banks and apps to monitor API use so that no problem arises in the system. The purpose of these changes is to make the UPI faster and improve. The habit of repeatedly checking the balance or refreshing the status will now change. Take care of non-piece time for autope and must check the name of the receiver before payment. These rules will cooperate in making the system fast and safe, so that you can take advantage of digital payments without interruption.
