Whatsapp Voice Message: Whatsapp introduced a voice message transcription feature on its platform in November 2024. Now, about five months later, Whatsapp is allegedly planned to make changes in the feature by presenting new controls for users. The new update is currently being tested on the iPhone.
Know WhatsApp’s voice message transcription feature
When WhatsApp introduced its voice message transcription feature in November last year, users got the same control, from which they could choose one of the 41 languages to show the transcription. Now, a new report states that the company is planning to present additional control in the app, which will give users more control over features. According to a report by WABETAINFO, the company is working on adding new controls, so that users will be able to choose when they need a transcription of voice messages received. Currently, when the voice message transcription feature is turned on, users get the transcription of every voice message on the platform automatically.
New feature will start soon
When this feature is introduced, users will be able to choose that they want to get transcription of each obtained voice message or they manually want to choose the voice message they want to get transcription. The report also states that when choosing a manual mode, a new button will appear within the message bubble of the voice message received by the users. On tapping this button, the transcription of the voice message received will be prepared. In addition, the report states that this feature is being developed for iOS 16 and iphones running new OS versions and this feature supports end-to-end encryption just like all other features of WhatsApp. The report states that users’ voice messages are not uploaded on the outer server and the transcription is handled by Apple’s on-device language model.
