Congress has once again faced a crushing defeat in five states. In Punjab, where the Congress government was in power, people have rejected the party. It is reported that after the crushing defeat of the Congress, the disgruntled camp of the party i.e. G-23 group has become active again. The leaders of the group have met at the house of senior leader Ghulam Nabi Azad on Friday evening. Former Union Ministers Kapil Sibal and Manish Tewari also participated in this.
March 10 proved to be a nightmare for the Congress. In the largest state of the country, Congress had given full force, where only two seats came in the account of Congress. Not only this, the vote share of the party was also less than two percent. The Congress party also lost its power in Punjab. Congress got 18 seats here. In 2017, Congress came to power here by winning 77 seats. But this time the Aam Aadmi Party has turned the broom on the dreams of Congress. Not only this, the party also performed poorly in the states where it was expected to make a comeback, including Uttarakhand, Goa and Manipur.
After a series of collapses in the states of the country, once again the disgruntled camp of the Congress has become active. He has held a meeting at Ghulam Nabi Azad’s house. Manish Tewari and Kapil Sibal were also involved in this. It is worth mentioning that earlier he had written a letter to party president Sonia Gandhi and demanded that the party should elect a permanent president.
