Google has announced its Google I/O 2022 event for May this year. The Developer Meet will be held in the United States from May 11 to May 12. The Google I/O event is free for all and registration will begin on March 22 on the Google I/O page. The US-based tech giant has also rolled out a Google I/O puzzle. The Developers Meet will be conducted live with a limited audience and will also be streamed virtually. Entry to the event is also free.
Content will be available in different languages
One of the exciting things about the Digital I/O Experience is the opportunity to reach a global audience. Content will be provided in different languages on demand and to serve all. These facilities will be available upon registration
Registering for Google I/O 2022 allows you to save and view relevant content. As a registrant, you can also create a developer profile to get the most out of the digital experience. By registering, you’ll also receive non-spammy emails to stay updated on Google I/O, developer events, and other relevant news. Even if you don’t register, you’ll still be able to view sessions and keynotes, but you won’t be able to save content, receive recommendations, or chat in an I/O adventure.
What will be special this year?
Android 13 is likely to be showcased at this year’s I/O conference and details about the foldable phone and the rumored Pixel Watch can be found. We are also likely to see the Pixel 6a as Google’s new affordable Android phone.
Event canceled in 2020
In 2020, Google canceled its I/O conferences altogether due to COVID-19. However, it organized the event last year as an online-only conference.

Event started in 2008
Google I/O has been popular among developers building mobile and web apps since it began in 2008. However, for the general public, the conference has gained significant popularity over the years due to various consumer-focused announcements, including new Android features. Last year, Google introduced Android 12 with Material U Design. It also announced a partnership with Samsung to develop the new Wear OS update.
