She created history as soon as she landed on the field in the fourth match of the ICC Women’s World Cup 2022 against Pakistan. Mithali Raj has become the third player to play 6 World Cups in international cricket after Javed Miandad of Pakistan and Sachin Tendulkar, who is called the God of Cricket. In the year 2000, Mithali Raj played her first World Cup in New Zealand. After that she was a part of the team in 2005, 2009, 2013, and 2017. Team India reached the final of the last tournament where England won by 9 wickets.
Mithali Raj is the only captain to lead Team India in two World Cup finals. Before the 2017 World Cup, India played the final of the 2005 World Cup where Team India had to face defeat by 98 runs at the hands of Australia.
