Jason Roy suspended: Explosive opener Jason Roy has been banned by the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) for two matches. Roy, who was bought by Gujarat Titans for IPL 2022, withdrew from the 15th season of the league citing a bio bubble. Apart from imposing the ban, the ECB also imposed a fine of 2,500 euros on Roy. The England Cricket Board issued a statement on Tuesday saying that Roy has been banned and fined because of his bad behaviour. The board further said that if Roy’s behavior does not improve, then this ban could be up to 12 months.
The ECB said in a statement, “The Disciplinary Panel of the Cricket Disciplinary Committee has given its decision against Jason Roy. Jason has confessed to the allegations against him that he should not have done the behavior that he should have done as it brings disrepute to cricket, the ECB and himself. Jason has violated ECB directive 3.3.
