BJP has captured eight seats in Lakhimpur Kheri. From the very beginning, BJP was leading in six seats of Kheri. In the remaining two seats, the SP was leading, but by the end of the evening, the BJP was ahead. However, SP candidates have also performed well in all the seats. There has been a fierce competition between the SP and the BJP. The pace of counting started in the morning was slow but the lotus flower continued to bloom. If we leave one or two seats, Kamal started leaving everyone behind. The lotus started blooming as soon as the counting of votes accelerated and by noon the whole picture was clearly visible. In 2017, BJP candidates had won eight seats in the district.
This was the first time in Kheri’s electoral history when the BJP had hoisted its flag on all the seats in the district. Even in the 2022 elections, the voters of the district kept their faith in the BJP candidates in all the seats. The counting of votes started at 8 am, except for one or two seats, the lead made by the BJP candidates in every seat continued till the end. In Palia seat, BJP candidate Romi Sahni was trailing in the opening round. At the same time, BJP candidate Lokendra Pratap Singh from Mohammadi also lagged behind the SP candidate in the preliminary round of counting.
In the middle, the SP candidate’s lead in Kasta seat increased the commotion. But according to the updated data till 4 pm, BJP candidate Romi Sahni got 101129 votes, SP’s Preetinder Singh got 63681 votes in Palia. In Gola seat, BJP’s Arvind Giri got 84224 votes and SP’s Vinay Tiwari got 52338 votes. From the very beginning, BJP was ahead in Nighasan seat. Here Shashank Verma of BJP got 1,14,821 votes, while RS Kushwaha of SP got 73972 votes. Counting of votes is underway for Srinagar seat. Manju Tyagi of BJP could get 73121 votes and Ramsaran of SP could get 63112 votes. Vinod Awasthi of BJP has got 111361 votes from Dhaurahra. While Varun Chaudhary of SP could get 87003 votes. Yogesh Verma of BJP has got 59168 votes and Utkarsh Verma of SP has got 56631 votes till 18th round in Lakhimpur Sadar. Saurabh Singh Sonu of BJP got 1,02,865 votes in Kasta seat, Sunil Lala of SP 88742 and Lokendra Pratap Singh of BJP got 59023 votes and nearest rival 51343 votes in Mohammadi seat till the 15th round.

28 lakh voters will decide the fate of 65 candidates today
The counting of votes for the assembly elections will be held at Rajapur Mandi in the city from 8 am on Thursday. After the counting of votes, it will be known to whom the voters have handed over the leadership from their assembly this time and who has got how many votes. By Thursday afternoon, it will come out who became the MLA. Voting was held on February 23 for eight assembly seats in the district. Out of 28 lakh voters in the district, more than 19 lakh voters went to the booths and the voters decided the fate of 65 candidates by pressing the button in the EVM. Since the voting, the round of speculations and discussions about victory and defeat in the district continued. If the EVMs are opened on Thursday, it will be known who the voters have taken to the assembly and who has been left behind.
Who got how many votes, it will be known after the counting of votes. The administration has completed all the preparations for the counting of votes. Pandals have been set up for counting of votes at eight places in Mandi. Counting of votes will be done on 14 tables in each pandal. VVPAT slips will be counted on one table while the ballot postal votes will be counted on one table. District Election Officer Mahendra Bahadur Singh said that all the preparations for counting of votes have been completed. Counting of votes will start from Thursday morning itself. Only those who have been issued will be allowed entry in Rajapur Mandi. No one will be allowed unnecessary entry. On the other hand, the heartbeat of the candidates has increased as the time of counting of votes nears.
