We all have a great love for our phones. We do not want to share this with anyone, because it contains our private chats, photo-videos, banking details etc. But sometimes such incidents happen, which no one definitely wants to face. That is the theft/lost of the phone. Even thinking about this gives goosebumps. But have you ever wondered what would you do if your Android phone is lost or stolen? Today we will tell you some steps by which you will be able to find the location of your lost phone and lock it and delete the data while sitting at home.
Before we go any further, it is important for you to know that this trick will work only if the following options are turned on / enabled in your phone. Let’s hope no one else has found the phone or someone tampered with the settings or turned it off before stepping up on this trick. So, here are a few things that need to be turned on/enabled…
Your phone must be on with both Location Access and Find My Device enabled or on. You must be signed in to Google Account. The phone must be connected to the internet with the possibility of mobile data turned on. A Wi-Fi connection should also work but is less likely. The phone should appear on Google.
Also, if you have a backup device or a backup code in case you have registered a lost device with 2-Factor Authentication, this should also work. Let’s proceed with the steps…
1. Sign in with a Google Account using the Android device you have. If you’re signed in with more than one account, make sure you’re signed in to the main profile.
2. Go to https://www.google.com/android/find?u=0. Or you can google “find my device” and then go here.
3. As soon as the Find My Device web page opens, a notification is sent to the lost phone.

4. If you think that the phone has not received the notification, click on the refresh button to the right of the lost phone image that appears on the page.
5. Now, a notification will be sent to the lost phone again. As soon as the phone gets the notification, you will get to see its approximate location on the map. Otherwise, you’ll still see its last location.
6. You’ll also see three options on the left side of the screen: Play Sound, Secure Device, and Erase Device. If you select Play Sound, your phone will play at full volume for a full 5 minutes, regardless of whether it is on silent or vibration mode.
