The force has got great success in the very sensitive Sukma district of Chhattisgarh. Under the Puna Narkom (New Morning-New Beginning) campaign being run by the police, 24 Naxalites surrendered leaving the path of violence. 10 women Naxalites are also among those who surrendered. All the Naxalites were working in association with the Maoist organization for a long time. The surrender of a large number of Naxalites has dealt a big blow to the Maoist organization.
Sukma SP Sunil Sharma said that 24 Naxalites including 10 women have surrendered at Potkapalli Naveen Camp under Kistaram police station area under the Puna Narkom campaign being run by the police. Pramod Choudhary 2IC 208 Battalion Cobra, PK Sahu 2IC 212 Battalion CRPF, Kapil Beniwal DC 208 Corps Cobra, Krishna Kumar DC 208 Corps Cobra, Amit Pal Singh DC 204 Battalion Cobra, Sunil Chinchi DC 212 Battalion CRPF, Girija Shankar Sao DSP (Naxal Operation) Surrendered without arms before Konta. Self dedicated Naxalites have been involved in many incidents including causing damage to the force.
Naxalites came to surrender with the villagers
SP Sunil Sharma said that during the Holi meeting, a number of 100-120 villagers of Potakapalli had come to surrender with the Naxalites. Villagers told that they were associated with the Naxal organization due to the mischief and panic of the Maoists, but they now want to work for the development of the area and the village. Holi festival was celebrated with the surrendered Maoists and senior officers present in the camp. SP Sharma said that under the pressure of the force, the Naxalites are surrendering or are being killed in the encounter. He said that the surrendered Naxalites would be given the benefit of the rehabilitation policy of the government.
These naxalites left the path of violence
The surrendered Maoists were Sodi Kosa, Vetti Hadma, Madvi Ayta, Oyam Joga, Vetti Hunga, Vetti Bhima, Madkam Handa, Sodi Hunga, Sodi Bhima, Vetti Devi, Veko Deva, Vetti Ganga, Sodi Hidma, Vetti Joga, Vetti Bheem, These include Vetti Nande, Vetti Muye, Vetti Deve, Kichche Bheem, Kichche Rame, Madvi Hungi, Sodi Somdi, Sodi Somdi and Vetti Masse. All are residents of village Potkapalli, Thana-Kistaram, District-Sukma. All are militia members. The surrender of a large number of Naxalites has dealt a big blow to the Maoist organization.
