The NIA court has given its verdict today in the serial bomb blasts that took place during PM Narendra Modi’s Hunkar rally at Gandhi Maidan in Patna on October 27, 2013. Today, the NIA court has given its verdict after hearing the arguments of both the parties in the serial bomb blast case at Gandhi Maidan in the year 2013. NIA Special Judge Gurvinder Singh Malhotra sentenced nine out of the 11 accused after hearing the arguments of the lawyers of all the accused. Of the accused who have been sentenced, 4 have been sentenced to death, 2 to life imprisonment and 2 to 10 years each, along with 7 years of imprisonment. Apart from this, as one of the accused was a minor, his case was transferred to the Juvenile Court. While one of the accused was acquitted due to lack of evidence.
Let us tell you that in the investigation of this case, it has come to the fore that a conspiracy was hatched to kill NDA’s prime ministerial candidate and then Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi in a fidayeen attack. On the basis of the evidence presented by the NIA in this case, now after 8 years, the NIA court has given its decision. Out of these 9 accused, 6 terrorists have been charged with serious charges under UAPA Act including IPC section 302, 120B. The court will pronounce the verdict against these convicts on November 1. The names of the accused who have been sentenced to death by the special NIA court are Haider Ali, Noman Ansari, Mohd. Mujibullah Ansari, Imtiaz Alam. On the other hand, Umar Siddiqui and Azharuddin Qureshi got life imprisonment. While Ahmed Hussain, Mohd. Firoz Aslam has been sentenced to ten years and Iftikhar Alam has been given seven years of imprisonment.
Talking about the incident, on October 27, 2013, before the Hunkar rally of the then Chief Minister of Gujarat and NDA’s PM candidate Narendra Modi, six people lost their lives in the incident at Gandhi Maidan and Junction. 89 people were injured in the same attack at Patna’s Gandhi Maidan.
