After the very poor performance of the Congress in Uttar Pradesh, the resignation of State President Ajay Kumar Lallu has been taken, but questions are being raised about the continuation of the post of UP in-charge Priyanka Gandhi. Party leader and former spokesperson Zeeshan Haider has written a letter to party president Sonia Gandhi demanding that Priyanka Gandhi also resign.
Zeeshan Haider has said in the letter that it is absolutely wrong to blame the Congress’s defeat in UP only on the state president, while he could not even hire a peon without the consent of UP in-charge and general secretary Priyanka Gandhi. Reminding that the resignation of the in-charge was taken along with the state president in the earlier elections, Zeeshan has said that Priyanka Gandhi should also be removed.
He has written, “Whenever the Congress party has lost in the assembly elections, always the in-charge and the state president have resigned. Be it the 2012 assembly elections, in which Digvijay Singh and Rita Bahuguna Joshi had resigned, the vote percentage and seats also increased. Raj Babbar and Ghulam Nabi Azad had resigned after the defeat in the 2017 elections. I believe that you should also demand the resignation of Priyanka Gandhi ji, this is a request from a Congress worker to you.
Zeeshan Haider has further said in the letter that as long as Priyanka Gandhi is in charge, her same servant and her same team will work, due to which the security of party candidates has been forfeited in 387 assemblies. If Priyanka Gandhi ji is not ready to remove her, then you are requested to relieve Priyanka ji from the charge of Uttar Pradesh.
‘Congress is as much yours as ours’
Zeeshan Haider further said, “As it has always been said that the Congress party belongs to everyone, then we feel that the Congress party is ours as much as yours and if there is any step for its good, then do not hesitate to speak it. Needed.”
