The US military transport aircraft C-17 Globemaster III will land at Amritsar International Airport on 16 February with around 119 Indian citizens.
This will be the second time when Indians will be deported after Donald Trump took the oath of the US President last month.
Earlier, a US military aircraft had reached Amritsar with 104 “illegal migrants” from various states of India. The Trump administration had deported these people to India under action against illegal migrants.
Meanwhile, Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann on Friday questioned the possibility of another aircraft coming to Amritsar Airport with “illegal” migrants and accused the central government of defaming Punjab.
According to official sources in the US, the process of exile will continue until all “illegal migrants” are sent back to their country.
According to sources, 67 are included in Punjab, 33 from Haryana, eight from Gujarat, three from Uttar Pradesh, two each in Rajasthan and Maharashtra and one each from Jammu and Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh.
This process is being done at a time when Prime Minister Narendra Modi met US President Donald Trump and discussed several important bilateral issues including immigration.
Modi confirmed India’s commitment to cooperation in the return of cooperation during a joint press conference, but also stressed the need to deal with the human trafficking network that exploited migrants.
The Trump administration held Indians in handcuffs and fetters and sent them back to their country by a military aircraft, causing resentment to India.
American immigration and customs enforcement defended this behavior, stating that it is a standard security protocol that is used in flights carrying exile so that people do not try to escape or create any obstruction.
However, critics argue that this method is especially inhuman for individuals who have not committed any crime other than violating the rules of immigration.
