Bollywood veteran actress Nutan Samarth Bahl, known as Nutan, has a brilliant film career of four decades. Today is the death anniversary of veteran actress Nutan. Nutan has acted in more than 70 films in his career. Nutan, who started her career with black and white curtains, has carved many layered doors on screen in her career. Nutan remains an inspiration for young actresses even today through her best acting and influential characters. Nutan made his career on his own terms and at the age of 14, the film started acting with our daughter. By the time she was 17, she had made her place in the Hindi film industry. The actress was from the film family as she was born to Bollywood actress Shobhana Samarth and film director Kumarsen Samarth. He played brilliant roles in Nagina, Saudagar, Karma, Bandini and other films and in 1974 he was awarded the prestigious Padma Shri Award by the Government of India.
Miss India won in 1951
Nutan was launched by his mother Shobhana in 1950 with the film Hamari Daughter. A family friend who once called him ugly changed his opinion by seeing his good performance. Nutan was crowned Miss India in 1951. Since Nutan was thin, her mother Shobhana sent her to Swiss Finishing School, La Cheteline. The actress was prepared there and became shapely with an additional 40 pounds. Nutan became one of the most demanded actresses of her time and won five Filmfare Awards for Best Actress. Some of his remarkable works include Seema, Sujata, Anari, Bandini, in front of Tere Ghar, Milan, Saraswati Chandra and I Tulsi Tere Aangan.
Lovestory lasted with Shammi Kapoor
Nutan and actor Shammi Kapoor grew up as a neighbor. There were many reports that both were madly in love with each other. However, when Nutan told his mother about Shammi, it was alleged that he refused and sent Nutan to Switzerland for studies. This was the end of his childhood love story. Once in an interview with Etimes, Shammi Kapoor’s wife, Neela Devi revealed that the actor married Geeta Bali on Nutan’s rebound. Nutan married Lieutenant Commander Rajneesh Bahl in 1959, and the couple became the parents of Mohnish Bahl in 1961. Mohnish has been an established actor in the world of glamor. Nutan always wanted to give time to her family as she believed in the marriage institution. The actress had announced that she would not work after her marriage.
