The Education Minister says that these reforms being made in school education are important steps towards the implementation of the major provisions of NEP. This will help reduce examination stress among students.
After the completion of this process, students of 10th and 12th CBSE board will get an opportunity to give board examinations twice a year. However, giving board exams twice will not be a compulsory rule. Students can choose to sit twice in board examinations as per their convenience or you can take board exams at once. There will be a certain interval of a few months between the two examinations. Just as JEE Main examinations are conducted twice, similarly 10th and 12th board examinations will also be conducted twice a year.
Students who appeared in the first examination, but they feel that they have not done well, then they can also give the second exam to be held in the same educational year. That is, the students who could not score well in the first examination, they will have another opportunity to sit in the second turn to be held. The Ministry of Education says that this is how it is a completely choice based system.
Apart from this, changes have also been made in the pattern of board examination. In the CBSE exam, analytical, concept based questions will be more. According to experts, apart from this, the variety of questions will be the same in MCCU, Short Answers. About 50 percent of the questions have been converted into MCCU and one to two marks. According to the Union Ministry of Education, now the purpose of board examinations will be to evaluate the understanding of subjects in students. Experts believe that this new method will reduce the need to coaching and remember.
The Union Ministry of Education said that in addition to the board examinations, many more important changes have been made in the school education system. Under these changes, selection of subjects during studying in 11th and 12th grade will not be limited. Students will get the facility to choose the subject of their choice in 11th and 12th grade.
