The 56th death anniversary of Brahma Baba, the founder of the Brahma Kumaris organization, the world’s largest and influential women empowerment organization, will be celebrated on January 18. Keeping this in mind, the Shantivan, Pandav Bhawan and Gyan Sarovar premises of the institute have been decorated with special flowers. In Baba’s memory, special yoga-tapasya is going on in all the campuses from January 1st. This time, on the death anniversary, more than 15 thousand people have come from Punjab, who will pay tribute to Baba by practicing silent yoga tomorrow.
Let us tell you that on January 18, 1969, at the age of 93, Brahma Baba, the physical founder of Brahma Kumaris, passed away after attaining the Siddha state. After his death, the reins of the organization were taken over by former chief administrator Rajyogini Dadi Prakashmani. It is the result of Baba’s sacrifice and penance that he himself stayed behind and encouraged women empowerment to move forward and today the flag of Indian culture and spirituality is flying all over the world.
Baba had formed a trust by selling his land and property.

With the resolve to save the daughters, educate the daughters and uplift the women, to re-establish the lost respect in the society, to give the true meaning to the saga of Bharat Mata, Vande Mataram, the famous Diamond and Gemstone of that country was born in 1937. Businessman Dada Lekhraj Kripalani has started a new scheme in the country. The foundation was laid. He was so committed to the upliftment of women that he sold all his property and created a trust, handing over the responsibility of managing it to women. Even after making such a huge sacrifice, he never put himself at the first place. To prevent the message of brotherhood from spreading among the people, the daughter was not even included in the executive. We are talking about Dada Lekhraj Kripalani, the founder of Prajapita Brahma Kumari Ishwariya Vishwavidyalaya, whom everyone lovingly calls Brahma Baba. On January 18, 1969, at the age of 93, Baba attained Siddhi and passed away. But the example he set in his life is being followed even today by millions of people who are moving forward on the path of Rajyoga. The main teaching and motto of the organization is: World transformation through self-transformation and restoration of moral values.
The foundation of change was laid at the age of 60.
Dada Lekhraj (Brahma Baba), born on 15 December 1876, was sharp-witted and honest since childhood. He was so eager to meet God that he created 12 gurus during his lifetime. They used to say that Guru’s call is the call of death. In 1936, at the age of 60, you witnessed the great destruction and reconstruction of the world. After this, as per the orders of God, you sold all your movable and immovable properties and formed a trust in the name of your mothers and sisters, at that time the name of the organization was Om Mandali. When the institution was shifted to Mount Abu in 1950, its name was changed to Prajapita Brahmakumari Ishwariya Vishwavidyalaya. Mother Jagadamba Saraswati was appointed its first chief administrator. Dada Lekhraj had a daughter and two sons.
I never touched money again in my life.
Brahma Baba handed over the responsibility to the mothers and sisters and never touched the money himself. He was so generous that whenever he needed money for himself, he would ask his sisters for money. Baba used to say that one day women will play a leading role in the work of world salvation and world transformation.
The world’s only and largest organization
Brahma Kumaris organization is the largest and only women-empowered organization in the world. Here, from the Chief Administrator to all the important positions, there are only women. What could be a greater example of women empowerment than the fact that in the restaurants here, brothers cook food and sisters sit and eat. The sisters handle all the responsibilities of the organization and the brothers support them as their associates. President Draupadi Murmu, who recently attended a program, said that seeing the success and vastness of this organization, the power of the women here has proved that if women get opportunities, they can do better work than men.
