Siraj Siddiqui, an Ayurvedic doctor from Dehradun, said that flax seeds are called superfood because these seeds are rich in many nutrients like vitamin C, calcium, iron, vitamin B6, magnesium, sodium and potassium. Omega 3 fatty acids are found in good quantities in it. It has a very good effect on skin, hair and nails.
Bad cholesterol will be reduced by 15%
Dr. Siraj Siddiqui said that flax seeds are useful in reducing cholesterol levels. According to research done by the National Library of Medicine in the year 2018, it has been found that people who eat two to four spoons of flax seeds daily, their level of bad cholesterol (LDL) decreases by 15 percent after a month. One spoon of flax seeds contains 5-8 percent fiber, which is beneficial if consumed daily. It contains two types of fiber – soluble and insoluble. It makes your digestive system healthy. At the same time, the amount of fiber also controls the blood sugar level in the body. It also reduces weight.
Flax seeds improve digestion
Dr. Siraj explains that if the flax seeds are soaked overnight or taken with lukewarm water in the morning on an empty stomach, then it can prove effective in improving the digestive system.
Effective in increasing energy levels
Dr. Siraj says that if you use flaxseed regularly, it works as an immunity booster. It contains sufficient amount of protein which helps in increasing the energy level by removing fatigue of the body.
