Jaipur. Additional Chief Secretary of the Forest Department Aparna Arora directed the departmental officers to continuously monitor the plantation work to be done this year and to prepare for plantation district-wise for next year. Aparna Arora was reviewing the Rajasthan Forestry and Biodiversity Development Project (RFBDP) funded by the Foreign Development Branch (AFD) of the French Government at the Government Secretariat here on Monday.
The Additional Chief Secretary directed to make all efforts to achieve the target of planting 10 crore saplings under the ‘Hariyalo Rajasthan’ campaign as per the desire of the state government. He directed to distribute 2.5 lakh saplings to the farmers of Jaipur, Kota, Bundi, Baran and Dholpur districts by selecting farmers under agroforestry. The Additional Chief Secretary directed to prepare a detailed action plan for plantation by identifying the areas left out from forestry in the annual work plan. He directed to prepare a detailed action plan for eco-tourism development in wildlife areas.
Aparna Arora directed to prepare proposals for constructing concrete walls by selecting forest blocks to prevent encroachment in forests. For this, 20 kilometers of concrete wall will be constructed this year.
Principal Chief Conservator of Forests (HOF) Arijit Banerjee, Principal Chief Conservator of Forests (Wildlife) Pawan Upadhyay, Principal Chief Conservator of Forests (RFBDP) Anurag Bhardwaj, Additional Principal Chief Conservator of Forests Venkatesh Sharma, Project Director and Chief Conservators of Forests of all divisions were present in the review meeting.
