New Delhi. The court has accepted the petition claiming to declare the Dargah of Khwaja Moinuddin Chishti located in Ajmer, Rajasthan as a Shiva temple. Ajmer Civil Court, considering this petition worthy of hearing, has issued a notice to the Dargah Committee. Civil Judge Manmohan Chandel has also sought response from the Minority Affairs Ministry and the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI). The case will be heard on December 20. National President of Hindu Sena Vishnu Gupta has filed this petition. In his petition, Vishnu Gupta has claimed that the Dargah of Khwaja Moinuddin Chishti is actually Sankat Mochan Mahadev Temple.

Ramswaroop Bishnoi and Ishwar Singh argued in the court today on behalf of petitioner Vishnu Gupta’s lawyer. During this, Vishnu Gupta also presented evidence of the Dargah being the first temple. He raised the demand to survey the Ajmer Dargah and allow Hindus to worship there. Vishnu Gupta cited the book ‘Ajmer-Historical and Descriptive’ written in the year 1911 by retired judge Harvilas Sharda, resident of Ajmer. In his book, the former judge had claimed that there were traces of temple debris in the construction of the 75 feet high Buland Darwaza present in the existing building of the Dargah.
