New Delhi. The weather is constantly changing. The heat has been increasing for many years and the weather is not changing on time. Due to this, people are facing disasters in many parts of the earth. Now a report has come about the dangerous form of weather in India. Delhi-based Center for Science and Environment (CSE) has said in its report that in the first 9 months of this year i.e. 2024, India has faced severe weather for 255 days out of 275. That means, in 93 percent of the total days in 9 months, the weather wreaked such havoc that more than 3000 people lost their lives and lakhs of hectares of crops were also destroyed.

According to the CSE report, 3238 people have lost their lives in weather related matters from January to September 2024. Maximum 550 people died in Kerala. At the same time, 353 people lost their lives due to disasters in Madhya Pradesh and 256 in Assam. This happened due to extreme heat, cyclone, cold, rain and floods and landslides. The CSE report states that more than 2.35 lakh houses were destroyed and crops on more than 32 lakh hectares of land were damaged in weather-related disasters in the first 9 months of 2024. CSE report shows that maximum 60 percent crops were destroyed in Maharashtra. At the same time, maximum 85806 houses were destroyed in Andhra Pradesh due to weather related disasters.

According to the CSE report, Madhya Pradesh witnessed maximum weather havoc for 176 days. This report says that in 2023, weather had wreaked havoc on 235 out of 273 days. In this way the number of these days has increased in 2024. In 2023, 2923 people lost their lives due to weather-related disasters and crops on 18.4 lakh hectares of land were destroyed. In this way, this number has also increased significantly in just one year. This CSE report is a warning that we should take steps to keep the climate healthy. Because global warming is not only affecting mountains like the Himalayas and the ice of Antarctica. This may increase the threat to people’s lives and food in our country too.
