Gaurav Gogoi (English: Gaurav Gogoi, born – 4 September 1982) is an Indian National Congress politician from the Indian state of Assam. He is the son of former Assam Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi. He contested and won the Indian general election 2014 and 2019 from Kaliabor seat.
Introduction
Gaurav Gogoi left his job at Airtel in 2005 to join a Delhi-based NGO called ‘Pravah’.
She graduated from St. Columbia’s School in Delhi.
He later completed B.Tech in Electronics and Communication Engineering from Indraprastha University, Delhi in 2004 and Masters in Public Administration from New York University.
In 2014, he joined the Congress Party and was appointed as Member of the Indian Parliament for Kaliabor.
Politics
2014 – Gowra Gogoi was elected to the 16th Lok Sabha from Kalibobar constituency. He defeated Mrinal Kumar Saikia of the BJP by 3,49,441 votes.
March 28, 2017 – He became a member of the Standing Committee on Defence.
September 15, 2014 – He was appointed as Member, Consultative Committee, Ministry of Communications and Information Technology.
September 15, 2014 – He became a member of the Lok Sabha member for violating protocol norms and contemptuous behaviour of government officials.
September 1, 2014 to March 28, 2017 – He was made a member of the Standing Committee on Railways.
Achievements
Centre for Peace and Development Studies Publication published an article by Gaurav Gogoi.
He was awarded the Best Parliamentarian Award, 2018 by Fame India magazine.
