This was such a horrific incident of murder that even the police officers were shocked to see it. When the door of the room was opened, the first thing the police saw were the toes. Looking at the scene I realized that something terrible had happened here. As we moved ahead, we found dead bodies of two women, whose age was between 28 and 32 years. Many bullets were fired at both of them and the crime scene was such that anyone’s soul would tremble after seeing it. There was blood spread everywhere in the room.
The bodies were those of 28-year-old Candice Majors and 32-year-old Terry Siebek, who lived in West Frankfort, Illinois. The double murder came to light when Terry’s aunt went to his house when he did not answer his phone in the morning and was shocked to see blood on the door. As the police began investigating, they realized that there were no signs of forced entry into the house and no vandalism.
Although the car and credit cards were missing, the cash and valuable jewelery were untouched. This convinced him that the killers of both of them were acquaintances. After this, the police searched for clues, connected the links and arrested 19-year-old woman Afton Ferris and her 29-year-old boyfriend Michael Schallert, who lived in their house, on charges of murder of both the women.
Now the question was, what happened between these four that night? Candice and Terry gave the couple shelter in their home, so why did they take their lives? In this case, when the police arrested Acton and Michael and interrogated them, a shocking story came to light. A story in which the lives of two or four people are ruined due to an allegation of small theft.
The story begins in 2008, when Candice and Terry meet Afton and Michael through a mutual friend. Within a short time a deep friendship developed between all four. Afton and Michael did not have their own home, so after some time the two started living with Candice and Terry in their house.
However, within just a month, the foursome’s relationship turned sour when Candice and Terry accused the couple of theft. The theft was not very big, but some music CDs and ladies tops were stolen. It was October 18, 2009, when the two scolded Afton and Michael and threw them out of their house. However, the matter was not going to end here.
drank alcohol with friends at home, then took life
That night, Afton and Michael go to a friend’s house and drink heavily. The two then took a semi-automatic pistol and returned to Candice and Terry’s house. Both of them said that they had just come to collect their remaining belongings. Actually, the plan of both of them was to avenge their insult by robbing them and running away. But after reaching there everything changed.
As Michael went to his room, Candice once again started scolding him for stealing. Meanwhile, Afton sees Candice trying to call the police on her cell phone. She immediately ran towards him and pulled him inside the room. Here Michael took out a pistol and shot Candice.
The entire incident written in poetry
Hearing the noise, Michael opened fire on Terry. There was so much blood on his head that he fired several bullets at these two women. After committing a double murder, Michael and Afton flee to Colorado. However, the police reached them and arrested them and recovered blood-stained clothes, the deceased’s credit card, ID and a semi-automatic pistol from their possession.
In this case, the police were surprised when they found a poem written by Afton on the spot. In this poem he has mentioned that incident and the migration that followed. This poem became a terrible proof of his guilt in the court. The two were charged with double murder, robbery and forcible entry and in 2011 the court sentenced them to life imprisonment.
