Along with other cities of the country, under the ‘PM Bharatiya Jan Aushadhi Project’ in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh, generic medicines are being provided at a lower price than the market. This has reduced the economic burden on the pocket of the poor. The quality of these drugs is also good. The buyers have thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi for this.
Director of this Jan Aushadhi Kendra Praveen Kumar Srivastava said that lakhs of people across the country are benefiting under the scheme. People are feeling immense happiness and pleasure because a Jan Aushadhi Kendra is open here, in which medicines are available at a discount of 50 to 90 percent. I thank Prime Minister Narendra Modi wholeheartedly for this initiative, and I also thank God that he gave me a chance to be a part of this noble work.
Brijesh Mishra, who is taking medicines from Jan Aushadhi Kendra, said that medicines are getting very cheap. The medicines here are quality as compared to private medical stores. This scheme is a boon for the poor.
It is noteworthy that the Prime Minister’s Bharatiya Janaushadhi Project was launched in November 2008 by the Department of Pharmaceuticals of the Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers in collaboration with the Central Pharma public sector undertakings. The objective of this initiative is to provide quality generic medicines to the public at affordable prices through dedicated shops called Prime Minister Bharatiya Janaushadhi Center. Along with this, educating the public about the benefits of generic medicines, emphasizing that cheap is not a compromise on quality, its main objective is.
