Gyanvapi Case, Hindu Side's Petition Rejected: ASI survey will not be done on the remaining part of Gyanvapi, Hindu side's petition rejected

New Delhi. In the famous Gyanvapi case of Varanasi, today the court rejected the petition of the Hindu side in which ASI survey of the remaining parts of the mosque complex was demanded. Civil Judge Senior Division Fast Track Court said in its decision that there is no need for ASI survey. The Hindu side will now challenge this order in the higher court. Earlier, after the completion of the arguments on October 19, the court had reserved its decision. The Hindu side had argued in the court that in such places where the GPR system cannot work, excavation and survey should be done through ASI. The Hindu side claims that a huge Shivalinga and Argha of Lord Adi Visheshwar is located under the main dome of the mosque. The sealed bathroom should also be investigated. Whereas the Muslim side opposed it and argued that the excavation would damage the complex.

Describing the court order, Hindu side’s lawyer Subhash Nandan Chaturvedi said that the civil court has rejected our demand for additional ASI survey. We will approach the district court for revision against this order. ASI survey of almost all the areas has been completed but in some places where the machines could not reach, the survey is still pending, hence additional survey was demanded. This is not our defeat, there is District Court, High Court, all avenues are still open.

Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh | On Gyanvapi case, Advocate representing the Hindu side, Vijay Shankar Rastogi says, “Our application in the additional survey into the matter has been dismissed. Now, regarding our request, it was stated that the previous survey was incomplete, and the… pic.twitter.com/ELWfZtNpxg

Vijay Shankar Rastogi, the second lawyer representing the Hindu side on the Gyanvapi case, says that the central dome was not surveyed as per the order dated April 8, 2021 in this case. Earlier the survey was conducted only by the ASI team, whereas as per the confirmation of the High Court, a team of five members should have been formed, however, the court considered all these factors irrelevant. We will challenge this decision in the High Court.
