Gyanvapi Masjid Case:

Varanasi. The local court has rejected the petition of the Hindu side for additional ASI survey of Gyanvapi Mosque in Varanasi, UP. The Muslim side has called it a victory for justice. At the same time, Hindu side’s lawyer Vijay Shankar Rastogi has said that he will challenge the decision of Varanasi court in Allahabad High Court. The lawyer of the Hindu side said that the Varanasi court has not accepted the instructions of the Allahabad High Court. Allahabad High Court had told the trial court that if the ASI report filed earlier as of April 4, 2021 is not satisfactory, then the demand for additional survey is justified.

At the same time, a big statement from Jagadguru Rambhadracharya has also come on the rejection of the petition for ASI survey in the main dome and the rest of the area of Gyanvapi Mosque. He said in a claiming manner that we will go to the High Court and the Supreme Court. Jagadguru Rambhadracharya said that the decision will be in our favor only.

Let us tell you that earlier ASI survey of Gyanvapi Mosque has been done. In that survey, digging etc. was not done at the main mosque, wajukhana and some other places. The Hindu side claims that there is a Shivalinga of Adi Vishweshwar under the main dome of Gyanvapi. The Hindu side has also described a figure found in the Vajukhana as a Shivalinga. Whereas, the Muslim side calls it a fountain. The Muslim side told the court that if digging is done on the dome and other places of the mosque, it could cause damage to the structure.

In the survey conducted by ASI in Gyanvapi Mosque, evidence of the existence of an ancient Hindu temple was found. Wajukhana was sealed on the orders of the Supreme Court and the case is being heard in Allahabad High Court. The Hindu side claims that the Gyanvapi Mosque was built on top of the demolished ancient temple of Adi Vishweshwar during the reign of Mughal emperor Aurangzeb. The back wall of Gyanvapi Mosque is like that of a Hindu temple. Apart from this, ASI survey revealed that there is an ancient structure underground in the Gyanvapi complex. Besides, many statues etc. have also been found from here.
