New Delhi. In the Lok Sabha today, Trinamool Congress MP Kalyan Banerjee made a very objectionable comment about Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia. Kalyan Banerjee said that if you are the Maharaja of the Scindia family, will you consider everyone inferior? You are not as beautiful as you look, you may be a villain, a lady killer. Jyotiraditya Scindia got angry on this and termed it as a personal comment and said that it will not be tolerated. However, the TMC MP later apologized for his statement. However, Scindia rejected his apology.

Kalyan Banerjee said that I had no intention of making personal comments on anyone, I apologize for my words. On this Jyotiraditya Scindia replied that we all have gathered here in this House for nation building. If you are concerned with the policies of the government then oppose them but you cannot make personal comments on anyone. He said that I will not accept your apology. You have insulted not only me but also women.
At the same time, women MPs of BJP also united in protest against this comment of TMC MP. He opposed such remarks in the House. After the House proceedings were over, women MPs of BJP met Union Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju and complained about TMC MP Kalyan Banerjee. He raised the demand to expel the TMC MP. BJP women MPs said that the TMC MP should be expelled from the House for the remaining proceedings of the current session of Parliament.
