Chandigarh, 25 February (IANS). Today is the last day of the two -day special session of the Punjab Legislative Assembly. Several issues were discussed on the first day of the proceedings that started on 24 February.
On the second and last day of the special session of the Punjab Assembly, the proceedings of the House will begin with a question hour at 10 am on Tuesday. The Punjab government can present a resolution in the House to cancel the new agricultural draft of the central government today. Apart from this, Punjab Water Resources Regulation Management Amendment Bill-2025 will also be introduced in the House.
Under this amendment bill, the age of a member or chairman of any committee will not be more than 65 years, that is, he will not be able to offer his services after 65 years. The maximum tenure of the chairman and members will be three years under this bill.
Please tell that in the Punjab Assembly, on Monday, tributes were paid to the former celebrities including former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh. Manmohan Singh died on 26 December 2024 at the age of 92.
On Monday, Leader of Opposition in Punjab Assembly Pratap Singh Bajwa said that this government has fallen into the eyes of the people of Punjab by lying continuously. He accused Bhagwant Maan Sarkar of delaying women giving assistance of Rs 1,000 per month, which was promised before the assembly elections.
Bajwa claimed that 32 MLAs of the ruling Aam Aadmi Party in the state are in touch with the Congress and are waiting for the opportunity to change the front.
This claim of the Leader of Opposition was commented by Kuldeep Singh Dhaliwal, a minister in the Punjab government. Dhaliwal while talking to news agency IANS on Monday said that we will ask him which ministers and MLAs are having dinner at his house. There is nothing to worry, we are all united with Arvind Kejriwal. Twenty such Bajwa came and left. We will question them about this.
