Udaipur. State Revenue and Colonization Minister and in-charge of Udaipur district, Hemant Meena said that Lord Birsa Munda is synonymous with the identity and self-respect of the tribal society. Birsa Munda, who organized the tribal society against the oppressive policies of the British government and sounded the trumpet of revolution, will remain a symbol of tribal pride for ages.
Minister in-charge Meena was addressing as the chief guest the district level Tribal Pride Day celebration organized at the Deendayal Upadhyay Auditorium of the Municipal Corporation under the auspices of the Tribal Regional Development Department on the occasion of the 150th birth anniversary of Lord Birsa Munda on Friday. Udaipur MP Dr. Mannalal Rawat, Udaipur Rural MLA Phoolsingh Meena, Udaipur City MLA Tarachand Jain were also present as guests in the program. Minister in-charge Meena said that to remember the contribution of Lord Birsa Munda, the Central Government has taken the initiative to celebrate his birthday on November 15 in the year 2021 as Tribal Pride Day. Today is the 150th birth anniversary of Lord Birsa Munda. It is being celebrated all over the country. The national level event was organized in Bihar while the state level event was organized in Banswara. Apart from this, special programs are being organized on the birth anniversary of Lord Birsa Munda at every district and block level.
MP Dr. Mannalal Rawat said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s dream is to make India a developed nation by the year 2047. Through Gram Utkarsh Abhiyan, efforts are being made to keep the culture of tribal communities intact and bring them into the mainstream. Udaipur Rural MLA Phool Singh Meena called for benefiting from the schemes being run by the Central and State Government for the upliftment of the tribal society. During the program, live telecast of Tribal Pride Day national celebration organized in Jamui Bihar in the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi was also done. In this, the Prime Minister also inaugurated the Dharti Aaba Gram Utkarsh campaign being run for integrated development in the tribal dominated districts of the country.
In the beginning, the guests garlanded the picture of Lord Birsa Munda and lit the lamp. Ragini Damor, Deputy Commissioner of Tribal Regional Development Department, welcomed the guests and gave information about the program. Talking about Dharti Aaba Gram Utkarsh Abhiyan, he said that the campaign is being run with the aim of providing integrated development and benefits of government schemes in tribal dominated villages across the country. In this, people will be benefited from other schemes including schemes run for tribal society. During the program, girls and folk artists of the tribal hostel gave colorful presentations. Under Gram Utkarsh Abhiyan, approval letters were also distributed to the beneficiaries of the schemes of various departments. Additional District Collector Shahr Warsingh, ACEO Tahir Anjum Samma, CMHO Dr. Shankar H. Bamania, Deputy Director Tourism Shikha Saxena, Deputy Director of Women and Child Development Department Sanjay Joshi, Joint Director of Animal Husbandry Department Dr. Sharad Arora, Deputy Director Dr. Surendra Chhangani and other officials were present in the program. 17 departments set up stalls, gave information
Under the program, stalls were set up by 17 departments related to Dharti Aaba Gram Utkarsh Abhiyan, such as agriculture, medical, animal husbandry, banking, women and child development, DOIT etc. In this, along with giving information about departmental schemes, registration of eligible people was also done. The guests including Minister in-charge Meena visited the stalls.
