Chandigarh. The media delegation from Andhra Pradesh began its press tour of the state of Punjab today, December 5, 2024. The delegation includes eight journalists and officials from the Press Information Bureau and Central Communications Bureau, Vijayawada. The delegation met Haryana Governor Bandaru Dattatreya at Raj Bhavan on the first day. Rajinder Chaudhary, Additional Director General (Area), Vijayawada, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Government of India, led the delegation.
Haryana Governor Bandaru Dattatreya told the visiting media delegation that the state of Haryana is going to implement the National Education Policy from next year itself, while the national target is 2030. He said that NEP is progressive, scientific and employment oriented. Speaking on the importance of mother tongue, the Governor said that like in countries across the world, focusing on the use of regional languages in higher education will help in the learning process.
He said that 182 pilgrimage sites related to Gita would be developed in Haryana. Discussing the 9th International Gita Mahotsav beginning today, the Governor reminded how Bhagavad Gita emphasizes on environment and warns us not to exploit the natural resources. Gives. He said that around 700 research papers on this topic will be discussed during the festival. So far, a total of 182 pilgrimage sites related to Geeta have been identified and 112 are being authorized to be developed as pilgrimage sites in Haryana.
The Governor said that Geeta is a source of value based education for students. The media delegation also learned that the state of Haryana is planning to launch its own satellite as suggested by the Governor. The media delegation will be apprised about the working of the government’s development schemes in the state through a press tour organized on the initiative of the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Government of India.
Tomorrow the media delegation will visit National Institute of Technology, Jalandhar and be apprised of the implementation of the National Education Policy. They will also interact with the IG of BSF and be aware of the role, responsibilities and functioning of BSF in the field. The press team is also scheduled to visit Amritsar and visit the Golden Temple, Shri Durgiana Temple, Attari Border and Jallianwala Bagh Memorial, after which they will return to their home state.
