Meta has removed several accounts and pages related to Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MLA T Raja Singh. This action has been taken a week after a report by India Hate Lab (IHL), which revealed how Singh and his supporters were promoting hate speeches against Muslims on social media platforms despite the official ban. .

Facebook and Instagram, the original company Mata, has removed two Facebook pages and three Instagram accounts related to Raja Singh. BJP MLA T. Raja Singh said in a statement, ‘It is very unfortunate that Facebook and Instagram have blocked the accounts of my family, friends, workers and supporters. Earlier, my official account was incorrectly targeted on the basis of Rahul Gandhi’s complaint. Now those who share my videos are also being silenced.
Violation of our policy- Facebook
Facebook spokesperson confirmed this in a statement and said, ‘We have banned Raja Singh from Facebook, because they have violated our policy, under which violence and hate to promote or involve those who involve it It is prevented from coming on our platform. The process of evaluation of potential violations is widespread and that is why we have decided to remove their account.
Anti -Muslim statement
Raja Singh was banned under the policy of Mata’s ‘dangerous persons and organizations’ due to his inflammatory and history of anti -Muslim rhetoric. The ban meant that Singh was banned from having an official appearance on the platform, and any new pages, groups or accounts representing him would be removed.
On 20 February, Meta took decisive action and removed two Facebook pages and three Instagram accounts related to Singh. According to IHL, the removed pages had over one million followers, while the Instagram account had more than 155,000 users followers in total.

The IHL report also revealed how Singh’s supporters used alternative methods to avoid meta sanctions. Some of the largest Facebook groups promoting their content are included. Raja Singh (Bhagyanagar) MLA, Raja Singh (Dhulpet) MLA, Raja Singh Youth Army (RSYS) and Tiger Raja Singh official groups collectively gathered more than 100,000 followers. Similarly, Singh’s content on Instagram was extended through four major accounts. These included @rajasinghmla, @t.usharajasinghofflicial, @t.rajaabhaimla1, and @t.rajaabhaimla3, who had a total of around 198,900 followers.
