Potter. A millet-based recipe exhibition was organized at Anganwadi centers of Kumher block on Wednesday. Under this, various Anganwadi workers displayed various dishes made from millet. A millet-based recipe competition was also organized in the block level program, in which Anganwadi workers participated enthusiastically. CDPO Mahendra Awasthi introduced the Anganwadi workers to the nutritional properties of millet and motivated them to include it in the daily diet. He told that millet is rich in protein, fiber and iron, which provides energy to the body as well as keeps the digestive system healthy. It will also increase the income of local farmers.
He instructed the workers to make every family aware about the importance of millet and motivate them to include it in their diet. During this, Anganwadi workers demonstrated nutritious recipes like laddu, khichdi, paratha, and kheer made from millet. Anganwadi workers who stood first, second and third in the competition were also honored. The aim of this initiative is to promote local food grains and spread awareness about nutrition among the community.
CDPO Mahendra Awasthi said that millet is extremely beneficial for health and it is necessary to include it in your diet. Anganwadi workers should spread this message from house to house so that the nutrition of children, women and the elderly can be improved.
Accountant Anil Garg, Block Coordinator Dal Chand, Senior Assistant Yogesh Shukla along with several local dignitaries, women supervisors, Anganwadi workers, and community members were present on the occasion.
