A major action has been taken against a millionaire bribery officer of the Anti -Corruption Bureau (ACB) in Jaipur. ACB had been watching ACB for a long time on Avinash Sharma, Superintending Engineer of Jaipur Development Authority. During the raid conducted on Tuesday morning, the team received information that the accused had more than 50 plots. These assets are located in more than 25 colonies in the posh areas of Jaipur.
The engineer also has other assets and investment worth more than Rs 6.25 crore. A team has also reached the JDA office to search for the accused. Avinash Sharma has bought more than 50 acres around Gopalpura Mor, Mansarovar, Sanganer, Prithviraj Nagar, Jagatpura, Pratap Nagar and Ring Road in Jaipur.
Investment in mutual funds
Investigation also revealed that the accused has also constructed on several plots worth crores of rupees. Avinash Sharma achieved land at a very low price by benefiting housing construction committees and builders by corruption. The price of which was also in crores at the time of purchase. 30 lakh rupees were also recovered from 7 bank accounts of family members.
Avinash has invested around Rs 90 lakh in mutual funds. He also has a car of 25 lakh rupees. Sharma has spent about 50 lakh rupees on his daughters’ education, coaching and Manipal University and Purnima University on higher education.
