Uttar Pradesh News Desk: Hospital operators are worried due to pending payment of claims after treatment of patients under Ayushman Yojana. After treatment of a large number of patients, the claims are stuck.
After getting the approval of the card of many patients, the payment of their claim was rejected. Payment of claims of more than five thousand patients is pending till October. This is also becoming a major reason for dispute between patients and doctors regarding treatment under Ayushman Yojana.
Under Ayushman Yojana, affiliated hospitals treat eligible patients free of cost and claims are paid to them by the government. Before treatment, the hospital has to take approval of the patient’s Ayushman card. It is said that earlier regular payments were being made but ever since registration with UP MCI has become mandatory for the treating doctor, the number of claim rejections and payment pending has increased. Under the Ayushman scheme in the district, one lakh 21 thousand 28 patients were treated under the Ayushman scheme till October 2024. Out of this, payment of Rs 1 lakh 16 thousand 21 has been made. Three billion 28 crore rupees were paid for this. Currently claims of about 5007 patients are pending. This amount is being said to be in crores.
This is why there is a problem in treatment
Not all the doctors in the district are registered with UP MCI. Many times a patient is treated by a team of two or more doctors. Teams of doctors from hospitals of other cities also come for the treatment or operation of serious patients. If they are not registered with UP MCI, the claim payment gets stuck. However, ever since registration under Ayushman Yojana has become mandatory, doctors have applied for registration and many doctors have already been registered.
